DC Council At-Large Candidates Forum Set for March 29th

Candidates for the April 26th special election vying to fill the at-large seat left vacant when Kwame Brown was elevated to Council chairman in last November’s general election will be answering questions at the Church of the Holy City (16th & Corcoran Sts., NW). The program will start at 6 pm and be followed at 7:30 pm by an informal cash bar & complimentary appetizers reception with the candidates being hosted one block away at Annie’s Paramount Steak House on 17th Street. Persons planning to attend may submit questions for the candidates in advance by email to the forum’s moderator, Borderstan.com reporter Tom Hay, at tom@borderstan.com.

As of March 23rd, the following have confirmed their participation: Sekou Biddle (presently holding the seat following his appointment by the DC Democratic Committee in accordance with the Home Rule Charter), Dorothy Douglas, Joshua Lopez, Patrick Mara (Republican party candidate), Vincent Orange (former Council member and candidate for the chairmanship in the 2010 election), Alan Page, and Bryan Weaver.

The forum is being sponsored by the following community organizations: Dupont Circle ANC, Dupont Circle Citizens Association, Dupont Circle Merchants and Professionals Association, Foggy Bottom Association, Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets, Logan Circle Community Association, and the Urban Neighborhood Alliance.
