Mid-City Artists Open Studios Event Set for Weekend of October 22-23

Continuing their twice-yearly event, 21 members of the Mid-City Artists group working in the area east of Dupont Circle, roughly bounded by 17th Street on the west, V Street on the north, 9th Street on the east, and P Street on the south, will be hosting the public on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23, between 12 noon and 5 pm.

This always popular event gives enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to visit with the individual artists in their creative environments and to view their works in various media, including oil, acrylic, pastels, collage, sculpture and photography. The tour also allows visitors to observe the artistic process and to see how the artists –- many of whom migrated into our neighborhoods after downtown developers took over –- have carved out their working spaces and build one’s own  collection from the connections that one can make with these artists, including purchasing from them directly.

A complete listing of the participating artists and their studios, with addresses, along with a handy map that can be printed out, is available on the Mid City Artists website, www.midcityartists.com — simply click the orange button link at the top of their home page.
