Columbia Heights Community Calling on ABC Board to Revoke License of Police-Raided Carryout

Tue., May 15 (6:30-8:30pm; main program starts at 7pm): A community meeting to be held in the upstairs auditorium of St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church (1525 Newton St; enter through the red doors on the 16th St. side) will be for the purpose of reporting on the February 2nd execution of search warrant by MPD at the ABC-licensed DC Fish Carryout in Columbia Heights, at 3475 14th Street where three arrests for illegal drug trafficking, including of the owner and two others, both of whom have extensive criminal records, and to discuss petitioning the ABC Board to revoke the establishment’s ABC license.

As of May 13th, an online petition (http://tinyurl.com/73ylx3j) has been signed by 350 nearby neighbors and more are being solicited by the leadership of both the ANC and the Northwest Columbia Heights Citizens Association. Participating in explaining next steps will be the association’s president petition organizer Cecilia Jones, Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham and his chief of staff, Calvin Woodland.
