Major Intersection & Street Improvements Set for Adams Morgan & Mt. Pleasant

Wed., Oct. 17 (6-8pm): The transportation department (DDOT) will host a community meeting at St. Stephens Church (1525 Newton St., NW) to present information and answer questions about the soon-to-start Harvard Triangle Intersections Improvements Project which will reconstruct Adams Mill Road, NW between Kenyon and Harvard Streets as well as the immediately adjacent portions of Kenyon, Irving and Harvard Streets. Representatives from DDOT will meet with the public to discuss the project details, explain the impacts that construction will have on the community, and to answer questions and concerns.

Among the improvements that will be made will be roadway improvements with full depth asphalt pavement and milling and resurfacing of existing roadway; reconstruction of the two main intersections to enhance pedestrian safety, installation of new sidewalks with granite and concrete curbs and concrete gutters; water main replacement, storm drainage upgrade and water quality inlet structures; new streetlights and traffic signals; removal of dead trees and planting of new trees along Kenyon and Irving Streets –- and more.
