Reopened Historical Society Library Open House Event Announced

Sat., Nov. 17 (12noon-4pm): The Historical Society of Washington, located in the historic former Carnegie Library building in Mt. Vernon Square (enter from K St., NW, bet. 7th & 9th Sts., NW) will be holding a Library Open House to which the public is invited at no charge. Featured will be its new exhibit, “Window to Washington: The Kiplinger Collection at HSW. Visitors will be able to learn about the research collections and how to have access to them and also to view additional displays to learn more about the Society’s offerings.

This will also be an opportunity to meet Jennifer Krafchik, who holds a master’s degree in library and information science from The Catholic University of America, and who comes from the historic Sewall-Belmont House & Museum on Capitol Hill where for the past 10 years she has served in a variety of positions, including director of collections and, most, recently, as assistant director.
