27th Annual AIDS Walk to Spotlight DC as Home to Some of the Worst HIV Rates Not Only in the U.S. But Worldwide

Sat., Oct. 26 (9:20am): This will be the start time at Freedom Plaza (13th St. & Pa. Ave., NW), but for those who arrive an hour earlier the organizers from Whitman-Walker Health are planning an “uplifting program of music, speakers and warm-up.” And for those who at the last minute decide to participate, same-day registration will open at 7 am. With this year’s event Whitman-Walker Health’s Executive Director Don Blanchon has announced that the participating agencies in the Community Partners program will now be receiving 80 percent of the funds their teams will have raised – an increase from the 50 percent which had been the standard since the inception of this program three years ago.
