Artists from Dupont to Shaw Opening Their Studios for the Public to Visit

Sat. & Sun., Oct. 19 & 20 (12noon-5pm): Continuing their twice-yearly event, some 20 members of the Mid-City Artists group working in the area east of Dupont Circle, roughly bounded by 18h Street on the west, Florida Avenue on the north, 9th Street on the east, and N Street on the south, will be opening their studios to the public.

This always popular event gives enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to visit with the individual artists in their creative environments and to view their works in various media, including oil, acrylic, pastels, collage, sculpture and photography. The tour also allows visitors to observe the artistic process and to see how the artists’ own working spaces are organized to serve their individual creative needs; it can also be an opportunity to build one’s own collection from the connections that one can make with these artists, including purchasing from them directly.

For more information and a complete listing of the participating artists and their studios, with addresses, along with a handy map that can be printed out, go to www.midcityartists.com/home.html.
