Zoning Regulations Review Public Hearings Now Underway

Nine public hearings on the proposed re-write of the District’s zoning regulations are being held between November 4th and the 20th by the DC Zoning Commission in Room 220-South of One Judiciary Square (441 4th St., NW), starting at 6 pm on the following dates: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, and 20th.

The text of the proposed revised regulations is available at dcoz.dc.gov/ZRR/ZRR.shtm.

These hearings are the culmination of a lengthy process leading to the first major revisions to DC zoning regulations since 1958, and follows the January 16, 2013 the DC Office of Planning’s completion of its city-wide series of community forums. These new regulations will impact every neighborhood in the city. In one of those that this publication specifically focuses news coverage, Adams Morgan, well-known neighborhood activists Ann and Larry Hargrove recently circulated a detailed analysis, titled “Zoning Regulations Review (ZRR): Implications for Adams Morgan in the final OP draft,” and which, with permission, is posted on our website at http://tinyurl.com/ldq57n5.
