Tired of the snow? Now’s the time to dream about a little fun in some warm places like a villa in Tuscany or a house on Martha’s Vineyard. Or perhaps spending a proper evening with Ms. Manners or a laughfest with Mark Russell is more to your liking. All of this and more are waiting for you at the Dupont Circle Village’s 5th Annual Gala.

The Gala will be held on April 17, 2015 from 6:30-9:30 pm at the Woman’s National Democratic Club, 1526 New Hampshire Avenue, NW. This year’s theme is “Destinations: Dreams To Go” and we are featuring 12 very special global, national and local locations.

Destinations this year include a week in an apartment in Paris, a house in Provence, a villa for four in Tuscany or a long weekend in Key West, San Francisco, New Orleans, or Santa Fe. Closer to home relax for a week at Martha’s Vineyard or in the Rappahannock Valley overlooking Old Rag Mountain. If you just want to take a quick break from the daily grind, relax with a robust lunch and games on Sycamore Island, enjoy a two-night stay at the Washington Hilton, or be pampered at an overnight stay at Swann House.

And this year we have an extraordinary lineup of celebrities for our Celeb Salons: Judith Martin, a.k.a Ms. Manners, Michael Kahn, Mark Russell, Bob Ryan, Michael Dirda, Andy and Marjan Shallal, Candy Crowley, Rebecca Sheir, Joan Nathan, Patty Stonesifer, Howard Shalwitz, and Geoff Garin. Celeb Salon tickets will be available for sale at the Gala.

This year’s Gala promises to be better than ever — a fabulous evening with a gourmet buffet and music for dancing by the Yoshi Nishio quartet. So treat yourself! Buy a ticket and encourage friends and neighbors to attend. Then sit back, enjoy the food and kick up your heels on the dance floor. Think about which of the exciting dinners with celebs you want to attend. Then bid to win and go home and start packing.

The proceeds from the event will enable us to continue to help neighbors remain connected and independent in their own homes and to serve the needs of our aging population within the greater Dupont Circle community. Tickets are $75 each and are available online at www.dupontcirclevillage.net. Or download a registration form and send a check to Dupont Circle Village, 2121 Decatur Place, NW, Washington, DC 20008. A portion of the cost of the tickets is tax-deductible.
