The streets immediately surrounding the staging area (22nd & 23rd between N & Q and N between 22nd & 25th and O between 21st & 23rd) will be posted for no parking and closed to traffic from 12 noon to 6:30 p.m.

The streets along which the parade will pass will be posted for no parking and closed to traffic on a rolling basis between 3 and 7:30 p.m.

One of this year’s two parade grand marshals will be Deacon McCubbin, the neighborhood’s pioneering gay leader who organized DC’s first-ever annual Pride celebration on 20th Street between R and S Streets, where his iconic Lambda Rising bookstore was first located before moving a block away on Connecticut Avenue where it continued for 35 years.

Joining McCubbin as the other grand marshal will be long-time LGBT activist Wilson Cruz, who may be best known by TV viewers for playing gay teen Rickie Vasquez on “My So-Called Life.” Other Hollywood personalities who will be participating will be actor Daniel Franzese (“Mean Girls,” “Looking”) who will serve as a celebrity judge at the judges review stand and actor, author, and Instagram “sensation” Max Emerson (a/k/a “Maxisms”) who will also join the parade.
