Annual Adams Morgan “Porch Fest” Announced

Like last year, on Saturday, October 2, betreween 2 and 6pm, the front porches, patios and stoops of Adams Morgan homes and businesses will be transformed into “stages for a day” where local music talent will be heard by all for free. Thirty-six musicians and bands will be participating at a dozen locations throughout the neighborhood.

With maps distributed at 18th Street and Columbia Road on the day of the event in hand, music fans, families and neighbors can follow their ears to experience a wide range of music styles, from brass and blues, to rock, jazz and soul.

“On no other day of the year in Adams Morgan can you hear a wider range of music than at Adams Morgan PorchFest,” says Kristen Barden, executive director of the Adams Morgan Partnership BID. And, she adds, “We’ve had members of the National Symphony Orchestra as well as students from local music schools. . . . PorchFest reflects the neighborhood — diverse, inclusive, and a lot of fun.”
